Kid-Powered Businesses. Real Sales. Unforgettable Confidence.

Sewcial’s most empowering summer program returns in 2026!

Over five weeks, kids ages 7–13 become entrepreneurs—dreaming up, designing, and launching real businesses in a supported, confidence-building environment. The program culminates in an epic public Maker’s Fair + Food Truck Event that draws hundreds of attendees. Kids keep 100% of what they earn and walk away with pride, real-world skills, and a story that’s truly their own.

What’s New for 2026

This year’s Minipreneur experience is bigger, bolder, and more powerful than ever.
Here’s what’s coming:

  • Micro-sites for every Minipreneur
Each young entrepreneur will receive a simple business profile page—featuring their name, product, logo, and brand description. Families can share them online, and customers can preview what each kid is building.

  • On-Camera + Public Speaking Training
We’re partnering with Good Day Sacramento again for live news coverage—and this year we’re adding a brand-new session focused entirely on presentation skills, customer confidence, and media readiness.

  • Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
We’re working with the Office of Vice Mayor Eric Guerra to make the opening of the Maker’s Fair an:

  • Official grand opening celebration—complete with a ceremonial ribbon cutting for all Minipreneurs as they launch their businesses to the world.

How It Works

This isn’t a classroom—it’s a launch pad.

Minipreneur 5.0 is a hands-on, high-energy, confidence-building adventure that blends real-world business skills with kid-level fun. Each week brings fresh challenges, wild creativity, and small wins that add up to something huge by the final event.

Here’s how we build it together:

  • 5 Weekly Sessions (1.5 hours each)
Each session builds toward launch day—from business idea to product design, branding to customer pitch. Sessions are fast-paced, collaborative, and designed to meet kids where they are.

  • Gamified Weekly Challenges
From slogan sprints, logo remix battles, and friendly peer to peer Shark Tank, our weekly activities are mini marketing Olympics. Students earn badge stickers for creativity, collaboration, and follow-through—building pride and motivation as they go.

  • Money, Made Fun
Kids learn to price their items, make change, track profits, and plan how to save or reinvest their earnings. We use real-world math in a way that feels like a money superpower.

  • Creative Business Tools
From poster boards and signage kits, and income and savings goals sheets, we provide age-appropriate, design-forward tools to help students feel legit and look the part.

  • Mentorship Moments + Pep Talks
Every session includes space for sharing wins, talking through challenges, and hearing from special guest speakers—including returning Minipreneurs and community entrepreneurs, public personalities, and local officials.

  • Finale Event: The Big Day
It all leads to one incredible night: a highly attended outdoor Maker’s Fair + Food Truck Festival, with booths, music, media coverage, and hundreds of customers. This is where kids see their ideas come to life—and walk away with real earnings, real pride, and real experience.

Testimonials

"I thought the program was really fun! I learned how to talk to people about my business without being shy anymore, and I also made new friends. It's not like school and it's so much fun with the games! It was cool to see all the people buying my stuff at the event (and we all sold out of our stuff)!" — Sophia, Age 8

"As a parent, I was amazed by how much my child learned—everything from public speaking to budgeting. The program is so much more than just crafting; it’s about building confidence and learning how to present and sell ideas. Plus, they loved getting their own booth at the event. Mel goes above and beyond to create an experience for these kids. I’m truly excited to see where they take their new skills!" — John, Parent of Ethan, Age 12

"The impact of the Minipreneur Program reaches beyond the kids—it strengthens the entire community. The children’s passion for their businesses was contagious, and the local support was overwhelming. I loved following along with their progress on social media and couldn't wait to come out to show support. It’s wonderful to see young people using their creativity to connect with others and make a positive impact in our neighborhood. I am going to register my kids next year!" — Paul, Local Parent and Event Attendee
