Empowering Creativity Since 2015
Learn about our mission to provide fun, skill-building sewing classes, unique crafting events, and a vibrant marketplace for all ages in Sacramento.
Since 2015, Sewcial has been creating really fun, over-delivered group sewing classes and clubs, themed parties, educational programs, scout badge projects, and crafting events in the Sacramento Region.
Sewcial promotes skill building and socializing, and transforms beginning sewists into proficient and safe sewing machine operators, who are able to complete awesome projects and achieve their sewing goals in a short amount of time.
Sewcial is so much more than sewing! We deliver practical skill building through all we do. Sewing is a perceived antiquated hobby yet a life skill that transcends time, gender, and has cross-over with other purposeful applications. Which is why we infuse other life skills lessons throughout all that we do, and is presented in a uniquely super fun format, in a vibrant and imaginative environment.
In May 2024, Sewcial expanded to include a handmade marketplace for crafters, aspiring crafters, and handcrafted giftable merchandise. Our patrons are enthusiastic community members eager to support a female owned small business, Sewcial's fresh and unique business model, and are inspired by our class and marketplace programs and products.
Our students and their families have become a community and embrace that Sewcial has brought them together. We are so glad you are here!
Sewcial is a play on our favorite things: socializing and sewing!
Noun: Sewcial
Pronounced: So-shul
We start lessons at 8 years of age/3rd grade.
You do not need sewing machine experience to attend. Our intention is to take the fear out of sewing. Sewing is fun and that’s exactly the point of Sewcial®.
Sewcial supplies machines for classes and parties. Students may bring their own known working machine to clubs and private sessions or use a Sewcial provided machine.
Yes! Because classes are carefully designed to maximize time and individualized attention, seating is limited and almost always sell out.
Wear what makes you feel great. Project sewing is generally not too messy of an art form.
Feel free to bring snacks and make yourself comfy. The instructor will exercise discretion when necessary.
Unfortunately, no BYOB to any classes or events unless otherwise posted. We will occasionally announce events that will be properly permitted and responsibly allow us to allow BYOB or serve beer/wine.
Sewcial® class costs vary based on the project type and length of class. Machines, materials, and instruction are provided unless otherwise indicated in the class description.
