Back for its THIRD year. Because apparently we all need a cape.
Is it practical? Actually...yes.
Is it necessary to have a dramatically oversized hood while doing practical things? Also yes.
One of our favorite fall sewing workshops is back for its third year! We're making our wonderfully swishy, generously and inclusive-sized Dramatic Hooded Cape—complete with a handkerchief-style hem, oversized hood and front closure.
And despite looking like something you should have to dramatically wander through an enchanted forest to earn, it's totally beginner-friendly.
We'll have an assortment of cozy fabric choices waiting for you at the studio, so you can choose your favorite and get right to making.
Then comes the very important final step:
Put it on and swoosh around the studio.
Obviously.
Beginners! If you've been wanting to try sewing something wearable but clothing feels intimidating, start with a cape. It's generously sized, forgiving and packed with approachable garment-construction skills without requiring complicated fitting.
Machines, materials, tools and step-by-step instruction are provided.
